Anthony Street

This project on Anthony Street in Ascot was our most challenging so far because of the difficult site conditions. First, for the Anthony Street Landscaping project, we needed to build a pool area connected to the lower level of this Queenslander home. The limited space and sloping terrain added to the complexity.

The yard’s transformation was dramatic and almost unrecognisable from its original state. We created a vast, beautiful new space for our clients and their family. Moreover, the project seamlessly connected the pool area to the home’s lower level, enhancing both functionality and aesthetic appeal.

The bottom yard was three meters below the road, making access difficult for the Anthony Street Landscaping project. To start, we removed the garage’s rear walls and built a ramp to access the lower yard. Next, excavation took two weeks, partly due to rain. We removed 20 truckloads of soil to prepare the ground for the new pool area as planned.

KEY ASPECTS

  1. Excavation and Access: Removing rear garage walls to build a ramp for excavation, which took 2 weeks with 20 trucks of fill removed.
  2. Boundary Wall Engineering: Completing wall engineering on the boundary and designing raised beds to soften the vast wall.
  3. Sewer Line Relocation: Relocating the sewer line to accommodate the new pool position.
  4. Pool Construction: Crushing and removing the existing pool and constructing the new pool shell.
  5. Deck Extension: Extending the existing second-level deck to create a seamless flow from the downstairs living areas.
  6. Gardens and Tiled Areas: Creating new gardens and tiled areas to enhance the bottom level and ensure a perfect flow from the living spaces.
